Misty Copeland, who last month was named principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre, was honored at New York City’s City Hall for her historic achievement.
Copeland is the first African-American ballerina to hold the coveted principal dancer position.
“It makes me so proud, it still doesn’t feel real,” Copeland said.
