His mix tapes made their way across Greensboro which enabled him to initiate a mix-show for a local college radio station. That gig led to his meeting of a gentleman called T-Luv (well-known producer and former DJ for artist Timbaland). “He took me under his wing and helped me improve my skills.”
DJ Mano attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. Freshman year, he worked alongside DJ Lord Jazz and the Lords of the Underground. He continued developing his skills at college parties and corporate benefits. While enrolled at Shaw, DJ Mano took several television production classes presenting the grand opportunity of incorporating his deejay mixes with film to create his own music videos. From that point forward Barnett Entertainment was formed. As owner and operator of production, DJ Mano not only became an entrepreneur, but more independent – spinning hip-hop, reggae, house, and R&B for the masses. As part of the legendary Mix Show WNAA 90.1MASSIVE HOUSE MIX, Barnett Entertainment also opened the door for video production jobs in the US and abroad.
